Words and terms beginning with the letter A.

  • Adept: Someone highly skilled in magic.
  • Altar: The working table of a witch; the "spiritual home" of the witch.
  • Aleuromancy: A form of ancient Greek divination.
  • Amulet: A passive charm which serves as a magnet for a particular idea or entity.
  • Animal Birth Totem: The Native American equivalent of western astrology's sun sign.
  • Arcane: Secret.
  • Archangel: One of the seven supreme beings of the Angelic Realm.
  • Athame: The athame is a double edged knife used in witch's rituals. Symbolic of the element of fire and a phallic symbol.
  • Asperge: To cleanse by sprinkling with water.
  • Astral Projection: Also called astral travel. It is the ability to send your spirit elsewhere while your body remains where it is.
  • Astragalomancy: A form of divination using sheep's knuckle bones.
  • Astrology: The study of how the stars and planets affect our every-day life and form a blueprint for life.
  • Aura: The name given to the energy field surrounding all objects, both animate and inanimate.
  • Autumn Equinox: Solar Festival around September 2.
